The Scapegoat Miami Beach, a 30-seat cocktail bar in South of Fifth, has a new interior and a logo inspired by The Strokes. Miami New Times reported the renovation on September 30, 2026.

At 100 Collins Ave., the 635-square-foot bar brings a 1980s South Beach look to a cocktail menu influenced by early-2000s New York. Ariete Hospitality Group operates the venue. According to Miami New Times, The Scapegoat received the paper's Best Bar in Miami Beach award for 2026.

What changed at The Scapegoat Miami Beach

Bartender Tom Lasher-Walker and his team led the work. Hunter green replaces the brown-black walls, and the high-tops have given way to wooden tables at standard height. Green tile and dark wood sit under amber lighting, with leather-toned seating completing the interior. The bar opened in 2018, eight years before this renovation.

For the logo, the reference is a record sleeve: Is This It, released in 2001 as The Strokes' debut album. Its artwork drew from the chrome branding of Magna cigarettes, a budget brand popular during the 1980s and 1990s.

Lasher-Walker's previous roles include the American Bar at London's Savoy and Attaboy in New York. He won the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition in 2014.

House cocktails and happy-hour prices

Daily happy hour runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with cocktails priced at $12. The selection includes Palomas and mojitos alongside Manhattans, gimlets and daiquiris. Miami Living Magazine also lists Tom Collins and Moscow mules at that price.

The Hidalgo was created at The Scapegoat in 2025. Its recipe combines mezcal with pomegranate amaro, lime and orgeat. Beny's Daiquiri uses Don Q Gran Reserva Añejo XO, adding banana liqueur from Giffard, Velvet Falernum, Angostura bitters and lime.

Miami Living Magazine reports that the Hollywood Margarita was first created during Lasher-Walker's time at Mae's Room. At The Scapegoat, the drink brings lime and Ancho Reyes Verde together with blanco tequila and triple sec. The current menu also lists a frozen Vesper and white Negroni, as well as the Penicillin, Waterlily and Revolver.

A nonalcoholic Kölsch-style ale is on the beer list. Beers are listed at $9 to $14; a glass of wine costs $17.

Miami Living Magazine lists the bar's daily hours as 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
