Vuelo 787 with DJ Rico Sanchez on Yakaleo

Disclosure: Anthony Styles runs Yakaleo. This is a show announcement, not a review of a broadcast.

Vuelo 787 with DJ Rico Sanchez airs every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Eastern on Yakaleo. Reggaeton is at the center of the two-hour show, with current releases and classics sharing the program with tropical Latin music.

The name points to Puerto Rico’s 787 area code. The station’s description puts the island at the center of the show’s identity and names current reggaeton and older records as its core. It also leaves room for Afrobeats and house, giving Rico space to move beyond that core during the broadcast.

In his announcement of the show, Rico adds salsa, merengue and bachata to the mix, alongside dembow and Latin house. He describes newer releases from across the Latin music world playing beside tropical classics. The announced format covers several styles, rather than a single reggaeton chart.

The DJ behind Vuelo 787

Rico, also known as The Politician, is a DJ, producer and label owner based in Atlanta. His club and resort career spans more than a decade, with work across Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. Yakaleo’s host biography lists residencies at Carbon Club in Accra and Aura at Atlantis in the Bahamas, two examples of the international work behind his radio slot.

His open-format sets move between hip-hop, reggaeton, EDM, Afro-Latin and dembow. Listeners can find that wider range in his catalog of mixes, which includes Roots in Motion, Reggaeton Empires, Trap Radio Sessions V1 and Global Frequency.

Rico also has a recording connection with Anthony Styles. Their single All Is Gone was released on June 16, 2023. Apple Music credits both artists and lists the release under Electronic. The track is available to preview on that page.
